Nowadays, in many places, it is very rare to look up and see many stars at night. Now most places rely on equipment such as astronomical telescopes to observe the stars. There are places where you can see the magnificent starry sky without any electronic equipment.

Tekapo Starry Town

This small town is located in New Zealand, which has always been a good place to see the night. At night, the starry sky in the town is simply unbelievably beautiful. If you want to go to Tekapo to watch the stars, the most recommended ones are summer and autumn. The weather at this time was very sunny. If you encounter a good weather, the spectacular starry sky is unobstructed, and the whole sky seems to be glowing. There is also a lighthouse in the town called the Shepherd's Lighthouse. Under the starry sky, the lighthouse seems to have been integrated with the surroundings, and when viewed from a distance, it seems to be glowing.

Atacama Desert

The Atacama Desert in northern Chile is the driest place in the world. There have been no rain in some areas for hundreds of years, but it is precisely because of the dry climate and the thin atmosphere of more than 2,000 meters above sea level that the Atacama Desert is rated as the most suitable place in the world for stargazing. There is a small town in the middle of the desert called San Pedro, which attracts countless tourists from all over the world to come to stargazing. Here, as long as you look up, you can see the Milky Way hanging upside down in the night sky. There is not even an observatory here. Tourists just sit and drink coffee and are surrounded by the starry sky.

Cherry Springs National Park

Cherry Springs National Park in the United States was established in 1922. Cherry Springs National Park, one of the world's four largest dark night parks, is known as "the darkest night sky on the east coast of the United States". Although not far from some cities, Cherry Springs National Park is surrounded by dense and tall woods and has a 360-degree panoramic night sky. It's one of Pennsylvania's top 20 must-see attractions, and the second dark night park to be recognized by the International Dark Night Society, known for its perfect view of the Milky Way. There are also two star parties held in the park every year, that is, on clear nights, in the park to see the brightest stars and the Milky Way in the darkest night sky, which attracts thousands of astronomers.

Mauna Kea

Mauna Kea is the highest point in Hawaii. Mauna Kea is a dormant volcano at an altitude of 4,207 meters, and many observatories are located here. The climate here is exceptionally dry year-round, and Mauna Kea is ideal for stargazing and astronomical observation. There are 13 observatories here, the tourist information station at the summit will provide tourists with publicly funded telescopes, and there are volunteers to help you get a better viewing experience. This is the only place in the United States where you can witness a spectacular starry sky, and astronomers should not miss it.
